FRIDAY NPE 2018 : THE PLASTICS SHOW SHOW DAILY Aaron Equipment Shows Off Chops Orange County Choppers, the star bike builders of the show, created and unveiled the custom Aaron Bike Chopper. Aaron Equipment (Booth W1273) says that teaming up with Orange County Choppers' famous Teutul family—Paul Sr. and sons Paul Jr. and Mikey—came as a natural fit since both companies develop innovaঞve soluঞons for their customers, and both are family-run. The Teutuls drew inspiraঞon for the chopper by visiঞng Aaron Equipment's North American headquarters, which has more than 30 acres of used and recondiঞoned process equipment. Everything from plasঞc extruders, centrifuges and heat exchangers to mixers and tanks are available, making up one of the largest inventories of process equipment in the industry. The Chopper's custom appearance includes a screw from a plasঞcs extruder, a gas tank designed to look like a pressure vessel and equipment-inspired looks for the exhaust, spokes and other bike components. The bright blue and orange of Aaron Equipment's logo make up the color scheme. Visitors at the Aaron Equipment booth can get their photo taken with the motorcycle. 82 Take the Sniff Test HPG is the new group formed by Hartmut Pallmann. With this new group, we reaffirm our commitment to be a global company and build strong alliances with strategic partners to serve a global market. Our theme for NPE this year is Pathway to Powder, where we will display our newest technologies to reach clean, 425 microns powder (tire rubber) and under 200 microns on other polymers, using ambient air only in just a few steps. Booth W963 I hope to see emerging technologies in the industry and figure out a focus that interests me. I have a co-op lined up with a medical device company, so I was hoping to see some of the perspecঞves of other companies in that field on the future, and how I can play a role in it. I have been to the Medical Parts Processing Zone. I was extremely impressed, and I hope that I can someday come back and have made a difference. Connor Greenfield Sophomore, University of Massachuses Lowell Plascs Engineering Major I'm most excited about geমng to network with all the different companies and see the new technology that's coming out—just geমng to talk to all of the different compa- nies and check out the different demonstra- ঞons and see what's going on in the industry. Ausঞn Adamczyk Junior, Ferris State University Plascs Engineering Major The thing I'm most excited about at NPE is geমng to walk around and experience my first real NPE show—all the networking opportuniঞes and the latest and greatest technology coming out. I'm really excited to see the electric injecঞon molding machines and see how quiet they are. It's just been a blast. Robert Kennedy Junior, Ferris State University Plascs Engineering Major Bridging the Gap Lots of students are here at NPE2018. Some of them are on the cusp of graduang, and some are just geng into their upper-level courses. Knowing that they have their eyes on the horizon, we asked— What inspired you to aend NPE2018? Interviews by Karen Cornelissen MoldMaking Technology Starlinger & Co.'s odor reducঞon table at NPE, (Booth W6885) where visitors are invited to take a sniff of the input material and the smell-improved regrind with sample staঞons.
