Next-Generaঞon Purging Compound Boasts Fast Changeovers ASACLEAN - Sun Plastech Inc. | Booth W3283 Sun Plastech is launching its new UF2 purging compound, which is said to be ideal for blown and cast film extrusion, as well as injecঞon molding. Like other Asaclean grades, UF2 is said to enable faster changeovers, resulঞng in increased producঞvity and cost savings. It can be purged through a die, effecঞvely removing gels and color and carbon contaminaঞon that is not carbonized. Providing excel- lent compaঞbility with PE, the prod- uct is recommended for color changes, hot runner cleaning and shutdown/sealing. As it does not work by chemical reacঞon, there is no soak ঞme or hold-up ঞme. Asaclean is also showcasing its N-Series of chemical purging com- pounds from its 2015 acquisiঞon of Novachem: NCR Grade (formerly Supernova Regular), is a versaঞle, high-performance chemical purging compound well suited for color and material changes in thermoplasঞc injecঞon molding and extrusion machines. NCT Grade (formerly Supernova HT), is a chemical purg- ing compound for high-temperature resins such as Ultem, PEEK and LCPs that can process at tempera- tures as high as 750°F. NCF Grade (formerly Supernova FD), is a high-performance chemical purging compound well suited for color and material changes for thermoplasঞc film systems, including both flexible and rigid PVCs. NCH Grade (formerly Hybrid 400), is a high-performance compound said to offer the benefits of both mechanical and chemical purging agents and is suited for color and material changes in thermoplasঞc extrusion and extrusion blow molding machines. | (800) 787-4348 New Valve Bids to Increase Wave Conveying Capacity Conair | Booth S14045, W1845 Conair says the common-line valve—called an "automaঞc flush valve"—eliminates valve-sealing problems that can occur with some material types or applicaঞons. The new design can potenঞally increase the overall capacity of its patented Wave Conveying system by ensuring a firm vacuum seal is cre- ated. Conair says the valve has been found to help reduce fill ঞmes significantly—by as much as 70% in one case—effecঞvely in- creasing the overall capacity of the Wave Conveying system. Common line valves allow mulঞple receivers to get material via the same main conveying line, instead of dedicat- ed lines from each source to each receiver. At NPE2015, Conair introduced its R-PRO (resin-protecঞon) conveying system, which offered slow-speed, dense-phase material conveying that sought to eliminate issues like angel hair and pellet fracturing. A[er its launch, however, Conair refined the concept, which is now called Wave Conveying. Be- yond simply low-speed conveying, Wave Conveying lets processors move different materials at the different speeds, finding the ideal velocity for each applicaঞon. The Wave Conveying system uses Conair LDP Series vacuum pumps equipped with variable frequency drives. Unlike typical vac- uum pumps that are 100% on or off, LDP pumps with variable-speed drives find and maintain the capacity and power consump- ঞon needed to hold a specific velocity. | (724) 584-5500 52
