Equipment upgrades, replacement parts, global field services, custom engineering, research and technical services and a 24/7 customer service hotline have enabled Davis-Standard to support customer needs in a cost-effecঞve and ঞmely manner. Davis-Standard is showing examples of readily stocked spare parts, extruder rebuilds and support for heritage brands. This includes technology upgrades to im- prove exisঞng line performance with new feedscrew designs, controls and consulঞng services. The services are broken down as follows: Feedscrews: Davis-Standard's replacement or rebuilt feedscrews range from ¾-in. (20 mm) to 12 in. (305 mm) in diameter. For feedscrew rebuilds, the screw is engineered back to its original performance characterisঞcs and surface treatments. The company is introducing a new spiral feed- screw design for groove feed applicaঞons. Spare Parts: A large selecঞon of mechanical and spare parts inventories enable Davis-Standard to ship in-stock parts within one business day. This includes feedscrews, barrels, thermocouples, heaters, motors and more. This is part of Da- vis-Standard's 24/7 commitment to customer service where customers can access a service technician to handle emergen- cy parts inquiries and service needs. Extruder Rebuilds: Also on display are rebuilt HPE-A 125 and HPE-A 150 extruders. Davis-Standard is able to transform aging equipment with improved efficiency and output with a fast turnaround. Extruder retrofit services include replace- ment of the extruder barrel, feedsecঞon, screw and breaker plate, new controls, L/D conversions and more. Safety Audits and Safety Upgrades: Davis-Standard offers line safety audits and upgrades to bring equipment in line with current standards. This service includes an on-site inspecঞon of exisঞng extrusion lines and a detailed report. A[er review, a quotaঞon is provided for parts and/or safety equipment requiring aenঞon. Davis-Standard can provide installaঞon and tesঞng for all safety upgrades. Process Control Upgrades: An upgraded EPIC III system is being shown shown along with the next generaঞon DS-eTPC II. Davis-Standard will also conঞnue supporঞng the Extrol system on Gloucester Machinery Company equipment with spare parts and upgrade opঞons. Davis-Standard provides complete control systems and upgrades for non-extrusion lines such as liquid coaঞng applicaঞons and non-woven applicaঞons. Rebuilds and upgrades of process controls, bag machines, winders, gear cases, dies and heads and other extrusion equipment is a viable opঞon for processors who want the lat- est technology at a fracঞon of the cost of replacement. | (860) 599-1010 Large, Medium-Pressure Press with Inline Compounding Opঞon Wilmington Machinery | Booth W1823 Wilmington Machinery is featuring its Lumina MP800 two-platen, 800-ton press with two-stage (screw/plunger) injecঞon and 44-lb shot capacity. With medium-pressure capability (10,000 psi injecঞon), this machine offers flexibili- ty for either solid or structural-foam molding. It offers twice the tonnage of a typical foam press and around twice the injecঞon pressure, as well. It also has an injecঞon rate of 20 lb/sec, about twice the usual for structural foam. This unit has an electric screw drive and energy-saving hydraulics with variable-frequency drive (VFD). This press also has a 6-in. extruder with throughput up to 2000 lb/hr. A new inline-compounding opঞon equips the fixed ex- truder with a single screw of at least 30:1 L/D and dual mix- ing secঞons. It would be flood-fed with a mix of preblended materials to be homogenized in the extruder. The company claims uniform mixing of up to six components, thanks to the screw technology developed in the company's lab over the past year. | (910) 452-5090 80
