See It At NPE Booth #W5563 The high heat requirements in today's plastic molding or extrusion applications are met with Bunting's new FF350 Drawer Magnet. It's rated to 350 0 F, hotter than any other drawer magnet on the market. How can it take the heat? • High temperature compensated rare earth magnets for stronger hold • Temperature-resistant viewing window • Higher temperature rated seals and knobs • Fits the standard FF housing, so you can upgrade existing equipment with high temp components When you need to turn up the heat, call Bunting. Performance that turns up the heat. Introducing The FF350 Drawer Magnet, Rated To 350 0 F. NPE2018 New Technology Focus Engineering Resins Geমng More Customized A prototype lightweight robot collaboraঞvely developed by BASF and Shanghai's SIASUN Robot is at BASF's exhibit. By Lilli Manolis Sherman Plascs Technology RTP Co. (Booth S22091) is featuring a range of new applica- ঞons made with its engineered thermoplasঞc compounds. RTP engineers showcase 7-Steps: A Metal-to-Plasc Conversion Guide for successful metal-to-plasঞc part conversion. RTP boasts extensive experঞse in using filled thermoplasঞc com- pounds to replace metal in a wide range of applicaঞons. Also new is a selecঞon of thermoplasঞc alloys that demonstrate abrasion resistance comparable to UHMWPE but are de- signed for injecঞon molding. Lehvoss North America (Booth S31147) is focusing on cus- tomized material soluঞons and its expanding capabiliঞes in custom compounding, addiঞve manufacturing, masterbatch and concentrates. The Luvocom 1114 series, based on high-temperature resistant PEKK, is designed to provide ex- cepঞonal tribological and thermal properঞes. Ascend Performance Materials (Booth S14001) is show- casing the latest addiঞon to its Vydyne nylon 66 family: the XHT series of extreme heat-resistant compounds. Said to rep- resent a step change in Ascend's heat-resistance porolio, the series is debuঞng with two grades for demanding automoঞve applicaঞons and capable of withstanding prolonged exposure at 410°F (210°C) and 446°F (230°C). Teknor Apex Co. (Booth S22045) is featuring Chemlon 102HI BK001, its "next-generaঞon" nylon 66 compound said to overcome cycle-ঞme limitaঞons of earlier grades. Polymer Resources Ltd. (Booth S15175) is highlighঞng its engineering resin compounds, including nylons, ABS, PC and blends, PBT, PEI, ASA/ PC and PPE/PS, and discussing new customized services. BASF (Booth S15023) has been working with truck and trailer manu- facturer Wabash Naঞonal Corp., LafayeŽe, Indiana, to develop an all-plasঞc composite refrigerated trail- er, and a part of the trailer is on dis- play. Lighঞng Technologies, Oxford, Michigan, is showcasing a sustainable, lightweight composite pallet. Also on hand is a prototype lightweight robot collaboraঞvely developed with Shang- hai's SIASUN Robot. Arkema (Booth S34146) is high- lighঞng new applicaঞons with its Kynar UHM PVDV fluoropolymer. Included is foamed PVDV. PolyOne (Room S210AB) is featuring its "extreme-heat" compounds based on PEEK, PES, PEI, PPS, PSU and S230B- CPPSU. SABIC (Booth S19001) is showcasing a broad range of ma- terials from both its petrochemicals and specialঞes plasঞcs porolios by featuring a wide array of end-use applicaঞons across mulঞple industries. Among them: • PPE is featured in a unique filtraঞon module from Noryl Glass-reinforced Cerafilঞc, a Saudi manufacturer of water- filtraঞon systems. •  The Lexan CXT line of high-clarity, high-heat, injecঞon moldable PC copolymers, designed for use in opঞcal applica- ঞons in the electronics, consumer and industrial and health- care industries. •  Lexan DH65011 sheet, said to be an innovaঞve ther- moformable opaque, solid, low-gloss PC/ABS that is compli- ant with the U.S. Federal Railroad Administraঞon (FRA) NFPA 130 fire safety standard for passenger rail car interior walls, ceilings and seat frames. • Udmax GPE 46-70 tape. This newest addiঞon to SAB- IC's expanding porolio of Udmax unidirecঞonal fiber-rein- forced thermoplasঞc composite tape products is a new glass- filled HDPE, which may be used for reinforcing industrial components such as oil, gas and water pipes and pressure vessels. • Ultem UTF120 PEI 7-µm dielectric film, developed for professional-grade capacitor applicaঞons and targeted to in- creasingly higher-voltage applicaঞons that require thicker film with greater storage capacity, is the second in a planned port- folio of high-performance dielectric films featuring different thicknesses. SABIC is also unveiling several new technologies including: a porolio of PP compounds for improved hapঞcs in automo- ঞve interiors; a series of heat-resistant LNP compounds for electronics; two healthcare filament grades for addiঞve manu- facturing; and, a carbon fiber hollow core aircra[ seat back applicaঞon. 34
