TUESDAY NPE 2018 : THE PLASTICS SHOW SHOW DAILY NPE2018 PRODUCTS ON DISPLAY PROVEN. AFFORDABLE. EFFICIENT. Automation isn't a luxury. It's a necessity. Visit ARI's booth at NPE 2018 to see how we're leveling the playing field with reliable robotics at affordable prices. Don't miss: • BW10 5-axis, full-servo A + C robot • In-mold labeling with high-speed, side-entry automation West Building Booth W4182 ABSOLUTE ROBOT www.absoluterobot.com Busch Brings New Vacuum Pump to NPE2018 Busch Vacuum Pumps and Systems | Booth S14023 New for Busch Vacuum Pumps and Systems (Booth S14023) at NPE2018 are vacuum gauges and the Mink MV claw vacuum pumps. The vacuum gauges measure the efficiency of vacuum pressure in a plasঞcs processing operaঞon, while the Mink MV claw vacuum pumps can be used in a number of applicaঞons, including degassing and material feeding. In plasঞcs processing, they can be applied for pneumaঞcally conveying pellets. The pumps have contact-free operaঞons, without any fluids in the compression chamber, which is said to greatly reduce maintenance requirements. Busch says Mink's opঞmized sound insulaঞon means quieter operaঞon while its compact dimensions allow installaঞon in small areas. The claw vacuum pumps are air cooled so installaঞon and maintenance of a cooling system is eliminated. The Mink claw vacuum pumps uঞlize two claw-shaped rotors, which move in opposite direc- ঞons. The shape of these claw rotors cause air or gas to be sucked in, compressed and dis- charged. The minimal clearance between the rotors and the chamber housing opঞmizes the in- ternal seal and ensures constantly high pumping speeds, according to Busch, while a synchroniz- ing gearbox maintains precise rotor ঞming. buschusa.com | (757) 463-7800 NGR Presents P:REACT Processing System With NGR Connect for rPET NGR/Collin/Britas | Booth W7263 Next Generaঞon Recyclingmaschinen GmbH (NGR), Booth W7263, is showcasing the P:REACT processing system with NGR Con- nect for conঞnuous monitoring of operaঞng parameters and the associated opঞmizaঞon opঞons. The Liquid State Polycondensaঞon (LSP) of scrap PET in the P:REACT machine cleans the melt of harmful contaminaঞon while sঞll offering process stability. The FDA and EFSA have both approved the LSP decon- taminaঞon process for 100% food contact applicaঞons. An upstream extruder supplies devolaঞzed and filtered melt to the LSP process. Inside the heated reactor, the melt is exposed to a strong vacuum at very high surface area to volume raঞo. These condiঞons iniঞate the polycon- densaঞon process where IV increase and de- contaminaঞon occur extremely rapidly. In many cases, the need for pre-drying can even be avoided. Maximum IV increase and decon- taminaঞon are typically achieved with a 25-minute residence ঞme, a[er which, the rPET will have reportedly near virgin-like qualiঞes. The polymer melt pump at the LSP reactor outlet extracts the melt at constant volume and constant pressure. In addiঞon, an inline viscometer gives feedback to the reactor control to ensure constant IV producঞon. This combinaঞon of constant pressure, vol- ume and IV provides excepঞonal process stability, which can be directly coupled to nearly any downstream process such as sheet, fiber or film producঞon. NGR says that in film and sheet producঞon using rPET, the high process stability of the P:REACT has resulted in noঞceably less process downঞme, leading to higher producঞon rates. NGR Connect gives operators a live digital connecঞon to their recycling process. This is done by recording relevant operaঞng param- eters for the NGR system and making them accessible to the user on any end device (tab- let, smartphone etc.). In conjuncঞon with the P:REACT, NGR Connect monitors the decon- taminaঞon performance based on sensory signals. Recipe management directly on the machine makes it possible to classify the PET input material and link to P:REACT produc- ঞon data. As a result, users have real-ঞme process tracking and can conঞnuously opঞ- mize the process to meet producঞon goals. ngr.at | 43 7233 70107 0 High-Speed Cap and Cup Molding Engel | Booth W3303 Campetella Roboঞc Center Srl Booth S27009 Two producঞon cells running Engel ma- chines demonstrate capabiliঞes in high- speed packaging. For cap molding, Engel is showing off the capabiliঞes of its all-electric e-cap system in its own booth with a 460- ton e-cap 2440/420 US molding 26-mm HDPE beverage caps with tamper-proof bands in a 96-cavity old on a 2-sec cycle. The mold is from Z-Moulds of Austria, and a dry- air system to pre- vent mold sweaঞng is from Eisbär Trock- entechnik of Austria. Caps are opঞcally inspected by a system from Intravis of Germany. A second cell is running four airline cups at the booth of Campetella Roboঞc Center of Italy (represented in the U.S. by Hunter Automaঞon & Roboঞcs, Sterling, Massachu- ses). With injecঞon speeds greater than 500 mm/sec, an all-electric Engel e-moঞon 740/240 T US toggle press is running well below 3-sec cycles with a mold from Fostag in Switzerland. The closed system for toggle levers and spindles is said to provide clean lubricaঞon suited to the strict hygiene re- quirements of the food industry. engelglobal.com | (717) 764-6818 campetella.com | 39 0733 29891 74
