TUESDAY N PE 2 018 M AY 8 TH NPE2018 PRODUCTS ON DISPLAY A Member of Brückner Group STRETCHING THE LIMITS High Quality Film Production Lines: Efficiency, Productivity, Flexibility WEST HALL BOOTH W 2727 New Foaming Technology for Thin-Wall Parts Trexel Inc. | Booth W551 Other benefits are increased L/T capability and ability to "break the rules" by filling from thin to thick to produce a sঞffer rim for sealing. Trexel is demonstraঞng the P-Series in molding with what it calls a "groundbreaking" 6-oz (200-ml) yogurt cup with IML. Using StackTeck TRIM technology, it has ultra-thin- wall panels of only 0.008 in. (0.2 mm). Trexel has also announced what it calls "the first-ever design service dedicated to foamed components." 2Limit is a joint ven- ture of Trexel and GK Concept of Dresden, Germany, a specialist in product develop- ment, FEM calculaঞons, filling simulaঞon, prototyping, tool design, and mold trials. This venture is intended to fill a gap in the mar- ketplace, making it easier to find design engi- neers skilled in the art of foamed part de- sign—who know how to "break the rules" of convenঞonal design for injecঞon molding. MuCell microcellular foaming can be seen at several more booths besides Trexel's: En- gel uses MuCell together with its DecoJect IMD process to provide uniform low-pres- sure packing to reduce stress on the thin TPO decoraঞve film and avoid sink marks and read-through of mold features. MuCell also allows molding a thinner, lighter part. Milacron is using MuCell to produce an SUV door panel with map pocket on a two-platen Maxima Performance 600-ton, wide-platen press using Milacron's "Core Back/Reverse Coining" technique, whereby the mold is closed and then opened to a pre- defined posiঞon to allow foam expansion. And Yizumi-HPM uses MuCell to mold a protecঞve briefcase in an aluminum mold on its DP-N two-platen press. Yizumi FoamPro technology combines MuCell with rap- id-heat/cool mold technology. This produces a range of surface textures, from leath- er-grain to high gloss, on the MuCell part, with the aid of a hot/cold mold-tempera- ture-control unit from Single. Milacron achieves a Class-A surface on its MuCell foamed part using Roctool "Heat & Cool" technology with rapid inducঞon heaঞng. | (781) 932-0202 New technology for physical foam molding is being unveiled at NPE2018 by Trexel, which has new dosing equipment that reportedly allows thin-wall molders to lightweight prod- ucts to a level never before possible. The new MuCell P-Series delivers nitrogen under pressure as a supercriঞcal fluid; what's more, it is able to do so at ultra-fast cycle ঞmes not previously possible with Trexel's T-Series dos- ing equipment. Now, thin-wall packaging molders will be able to achieve 6% lightweighঞng, 7% faster cycles, 30% lower clamp tonnage, and 12% lower injecঞon pressure, according to Trexel. Servo-Hydraulic Two-Platens & Toggles on Display Asian Plasঞc Machinery Co., Ltd. | Booth S17147 and The Chen Hsong Group | Booth W205 Chen Hsong of Hong Kong is showing two new lines of servo-hydraulic machines. One is the Supermaster advanced two-platen se- ries with fast clamp speeds of 750 mm/sec, modular design, and Beckoff controls. A SM700 model is shown here at NPE, but the line ranges up to 7,150 U.S. tons with 242-lb shot capacity. The other new line, Jetmaster MK6 tog- gles with generous ঞebar spacing, B&R con- trols, and Japanese "precision hydraulics," is said to be tuned for high accuracy without overshoots or fluctuaঞons. Mold protecঞon is reportedly so sensiঞve that it will not puncture a single sheet of le•er paper. A JM208-MK6 is on display. Asian Plasঞc Machinery of Taiwan, a sub- sidiary of Chen Hsong, exhibiঞng separately, is showing one of its top-of-the-line TSV servo-hydraulic toggles running IML. asianplasঞ +886 3 4522288 318 | (852) 2665-3222 69
