MONDAY N PE 2 018 M AY 7 TH NPE2018 PRODUCTS ON DISPLAY Compact Nozzle Enables Injecঞon on the Inside Surface of Part Thermoplay S.p.A. | Booth W643 Thermoplay displays its newly expanded small nozzle series featuring the valve gate F mini nozzle, Ø11. Designed to meet the in- creasing requirements of special applicaঞons in cosmeঞc, medical and food packaging markets, the nozzle features a small pitch and is now available for valve gate applicaঞons. The F Ø11 valve gate nozzle has a minimum pitch of 17 mm. Because of its compact pro- file, the nozzle is useful in restricted areas and enables injecঞon on an "inside" surface of the part. The nozzle and ঞp design enable low thermal dispersion, giving maximum flex- ibility to the moldmaker in designing the cooling system. The patented Thermoplay heaters uni- formly distribute heat along the whole nozzle surface, providing low energy consumpঞon (at 150W maximum per nozzle). Thermoplay says that the moldmaker can easily replace the ঞp for maintenance with the mold in- stalled in the injecঞon machine. Valve-gate actuaঞon can be pneumaঞc or hydraulic, individual- or plate-actuated, which Thermo- play says makes the nozzles useful for high-cavitaঞon applicaঞons requiring in- creased precision. The pin, available in a cylindrical or conical opঞon, is designed to minimize the witness mark on the part (gate diameter from 0.8 to 1.2 mm) providing the highest quality finish. Egg cups of white and yellow LSR are run in a 4 + 4 cavity Elmet mold using that company's new TOP5000 dosing system. Its closed-loop controls document the real amount of colo- rant used, which is parঞcularly relevant to the healthcare industry. Especially remark- able is the special hardware system that al- lows two-component molding on a standard one-component Arburg injecঞon press with only one LSR dosing system.
