MONDAY N PE 2 018 M AY 7 TH NPE2018 PRODUCTS ON DISPLAY Automated Self-Cleaning Blender Advanced Blending Soluঞons LLC | Booth W8063 Sepro Features Its First 'Made-in-America' Robot Sepro America LLC | Booth W8571 Sepro America is marking a new phase of its business devel- opment in this hemisphere with its display of one of the first Sepro robots "made in America." As a result of a recent expan- sion doubling the size of its facility in Warrendale, Pennsylva- nia, Sepro America is now building large Cartesian robots in the U.S., the company's first manufacturing outside its home plant in France. The five-axis 7X-45 model on display (equipped with a Stäubli servo wrist) is one of the first of 40 large robots planned to be built in Warrendale this year. It's one of 15 Sepro robots at the show, six in its own booth with the others at those of molding machine suppliers—Absolute Haiঞan, Sumitomo Demag, Toshiba, Maruka/Toyo, Billion and more. Other new developments shown by Sepro include retro- fiable apps for its Sepro Visual controls, such as OpঞCycle, a "plug-in" that uses "expert logic" to help users opঞmize robot and machine cycles, poten- ঞally achieving up to 40% faster robot in/out cycles and 5-10% shorter overall molding cycles. An- other new app is Live Support, which links robots with remote troubleshooঞng assistance. Sepro is also showing six-axis arঞculated-arm robots, including a 6X-170, one of the smaller Yaska- wa-Motoman units added to Sepro's line last year. Sepro also offers six-axis robots from Stäubli. (412) 459-0450 Advanced Blending Soluঞons (ABS) is introducing its first au- tomated, self-cleaning blender. The Chameleon Simplicity 3000 is a fully automated material cleanout system that can complete a blender material change without operator assis- tance. In operaঞon, material is removed from the feeder tray using an automated vacuum system. From there it can be sent to a material collecঞon staঞon or bin for later use. Com- pressed air then cleans the side walls of the component hop- per, with ABS saying changeovers can be done as quickly as 20 seconds on the smallest ABS feeder, assuming that the rundown feature was used. ABS says the Chameleon has a throughput of up to 1000 lb/hr on up to a 10-component frame. The standard feeder has a range from 0.4 to 200 lb/hr.
