The ProFlex C feeding system is used for the conঞn- uous feeding of bulk materials such as powder, granulates, pellets or fibers. With ProFlex C 500, 3000 and 6000, Schenck Process offers three feeder sizes with a total of five exten- sion hoppers. All ProFlex models have extension hoppers which are easy to clean and have an adaptable, space- saving design that enables opঞmum installaঞon in exisঞng and new pro- ducঞon plants. The off-center feeder arrangement allows up to eight feed- ers with close-fiমng discharge helixes and nozzles to be used. The drive and feeder setup can be customized during assembly. For maxi- mum flexibility, the direcঞon of the discharge side can be easily changed at any ঞme. Schenck Process is now of- fering the choice between different discharge lengths as standard. Only two highly accessible sides are needed for service work. Various feed hoppers, gear reducers, helixes and nozzles are available for adaptaঞon to the special properঞes of bulk materials. Hasco says that the robust, form-fit connecঞon between the hot runner manifold and the screw-in nozzle guarantees leak-free operaঞon and significantly facili- tates the mounঞng and removal of the sys- tem as a whole in the injecঞon mold. The connector cables for the individual nozzles and the hot runner pass through indi- vidually configured cable ducts to the con- necঞon box where they are wired up accord- ing to the customer's specificaঞons. Hasco says that this saves the moldmaker or injec- ঞon molder from having to connect up the system and ensures a smooth start to pro- ducঞon. The correct allocaঞon of the zones to the manifold heaঞng units and nozzles is documented on a dimension sheet and in a special test report. The system layout facili- tates mounঞng and removal and prevents any damage to the hot runner system when the mold is being serviced.
