Making its North American debut, this new "workhorse" series comes with the Endura Touch control. A 260-tonner is molding a double-walled cup in two shots, using an indexing mold from JP Grosfilley of France and a Mold-Masters E-Mulঞ EM3 auxiliary injecঞon unit. Come get a cup to take home. | (513) 536-2000 Running TPE Tubing Line Has Predicঞve, Preventaঞve Maintenance Features Davis-Standard LLC | Booth W5947 Davis-Standard says the star of its NPE2018 booth is a running TPE tubing line that's showing the benefits of preventaঞve and predicঞve maintenance as part of an inter- naঞonal trend toward the "smart factory." Davis-Standard will provide real-ঞme exam- ples of the advantages of this technology, including direct e-mail noঞficaঞons to cus- tomer PCs, tablets or smart phones during the show. The line is processing TPE tubing for industrial applicaঞons and features Davis-Standard's newest Thermaঞc extruder design along with the DS eVUE II controller. "The digital transformaঞon occurring in the plasঞcs industry will accelerate over the next several years and significantly influence innovaঞon in machine design and producঞv- ity on the producঞon floor," notes John Chrisঞano, Davis-Standard's vice president of Extrusion Technology. "With Davis-Stan- dard predicঞve maintenance technology, machine operators will be alerted to issues before they happen, prevenঞng unnecessary downঞme while also collecঞng valuable data. Being able to monitor extrusion line variables that include equipment, mechani- cal and electrical system condiঞons and en- ergy efficiency will provide valuable tools to improve overall performance. Processors will also be able to improve equipment per- formance and bring products to market fast- er with a measurable cost benefit. It's an exciঞng trend that we are sharing with customers at NPE2018." Examples of preventaঞve maintenance monitoring include vibraঞon, oil composiঞon, motor parameters, heater status, screw wear algorithm and energy consumpঞon. As part of this package, the line features Davis- Standard's latest drive technology to provide noঞficaঞon of potenঞal drive issues. Chrisঞa- no also noted that this type of technology is ideal for the latest generaঞon of the Ther- maঞc extruder. The extruder's modern plat- form represents a collaborঞve effort among Davis-Standard's mechanical, electrical, pro- cess and control engineering departments to create opঞmal processing for applicaঞons ranging from blown film to wire and cable. Chrisঞano adds, "The Thermaঞc is the ideal machine for this type of demonstraঞon because it's built for the most complex processes. It's engineered with a high wear-resistant barrel and state-of-the-art feedscrew technology. When you take that and plug in the potenঞal of IIoT, you're look- ing at the future of extrusion efficiency." | (860) 599-1010 56
