You may not have the ঞme to tack on a full Disney vacaঞon to your NPE trip, but what be•er way to reward yourself for a producঞve day networking and learning about the latest trends in the plasঞcs industry than to pay a visit to Disney Springs a[er the show? Disney Springs is the themed shopping, dining and entertainment district of Disney. Previously known as Downtown Disney, the area has undergone major renovaঞons during the past three years—a venture that resulted in the creaঞon of 4,000 construcঞon jobs and around 1,200 permanent roles. "Visually, it feels like a brand-new desঞna- ঞon," says Darcy Clark, markeঞng manager for Disney Springs, "This is a beauঞful, open- air retail, dining and entertainment complex that only Disney could dream up." Inspired by the historic architecture and natural beauty of Florida's waterfront towns, Disney Springs is built around a bubbling spring that sets the tone for the enঞre prom- enade. There are several restaurants by celebrity and award-winning chefs including Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' and Morimoto Asia featuring a Pan-Asian menu by Iron Chef Morimoto. If you're looking for something a li•le more low-key, you'll also find plenty of great casual dining. Disney Springs has tons of entertainment opঞons to choose from including 25 live acts each night, a luxury bowling alley, the world's largest tethered helium balloon ride, a 24-screen dine-in movie theatre and a Star Wars themed hyper-reality experience known as The VOID: Secrets of the Empire. And for night owls, Disney Springs offers a late-night scene Thursday through Saturday with many of the ho•est venues offering food, drinks and entertainment unঞl 2 a.m. Worried about geমng around? The menu ranges from grilled skewers of seafood, vegetables and meat to a selecঞon of sushi served à la carte. Fresco Cucina Italiana Just off Sand Lake Road's Restaurant Row, Fresco Cucina Italiana is an affordable family-style Italian restaurant. Loved by locals and kid-friendly, it offers a variety of pastas and wood-oven pizza. Saffron The Saffron boasts of its modern atmosphere and richly-spiced food.
